Welcome to the Tracy M. Wilson West Hartford History Center, located at the Noah Webster House and West Hartford Historical Society. This video highlights the contributions of Tracy M. Wilson, who used the center to inspire her students and encourage them to explore local history. The center houses a wealth of resources, including military records, photographs dating back to the mid-1800s, and documents related to West Hartford's history, including those of notable residents and the African-American community.
Tracy's donation of her life's work, which includes primary and secondary source materials on various historical topics, is showcased for its significance in preserving history and engaging the community. The video also mentions recent renovations that improved the storage and display of the archives, allowing for greater public access to the collection. The overall aim is to promote a love of history and community pride through the accessible preservation of local heritage.
